Due to the mild weather and a forecast of F5 SW I thought I'd head out to
Borth and double my number of sessions for the month to two!
Went out in the estauary first and it was very marginal. Shloged around a
bit on my 6.4m. Went in to think about putting on the 7.5m but Al arrived
at this point suggesting the front might be better, and it was.
So moved over to the Golf Course car park and rigged again. It was about 18
knots when Al measured it but dropped off a bit as we launched.
Intro to Waves Part I
I had trouble getting going in the marginal conditions and kept getting so
far out before one of the waves took me out. Managed a bit of a wave ride
on the way back in at one point which was fun.
Although I was being carried further down wind at each attempt to get out I
kept going as I new that once I'd done the walk of shame then the session
would be finished. So I kept going and saved it all up for one long, long
walk.
I want to get out in waves more, it looks good fun so I just need to keep
going out to get used to it.
But I give myself one star for getting out, another for introduction to
waves part I, and one for the gloriously mild weather! If only winter was
always this warm.
